There’s a range of Facebook groups and online communities for neurodivergent people.
Those listed below are run by reputable organisations, but MindMate is not responsible for any content posted in them. Online groups may help you to meet others with similar experiences to your own, but please see our Staying Safe section for guidance on using Facebook pages and other social media. Facebook accounts are available for age 13+.
ADHD UK is an ADHD charity which moderates the following Facebook groups:

Leeds ADHD Support Group
The Leeds ADHD Support Group is accessible via Facebook while their website is being updated.
ZigZag Leeds
ZigZag Leeds is a local organisation offering support to children and young people with autism and their families. Their Facebook page is a source of information about autism in general, as well as information about their groups.
Leeds SEND Youth Forum
The Leeds SEND Youth Forum is an online network of young people aged 11 to 25 years old with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) who live in Leeds or go to school in Leeds.
Autistic Girls Network
The Autistic Girls Network have a moderated Facebook group.
West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership workshops
The West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership is delivering a two-year project to improve the lives of neurodivergent people across the region. To kick-start the work, they are inviting autistic people, people with ADHD, and their parents or carers to a series of workshops to share their experiences.
National Autistic Society community
The National Autistic Society’s online community is a place for autistic people 16 and above and their families to meet like-minded people and share their experiences in a moderated online space.
ADHD Action
ADHD Action is an ADHD charity which has started working with the National Attention Deficit Disorder Information and Support Service (ADDISS). Their Facebook page posts information and research opportunities for people with ADHD.
Autistica Research Network
The Autistica Research Network connects autistic people and their parents/carers to research updates and opportunities in the field of autism.
The Mix
Youth support organisation The Mix has an online community for those under 25 to reach out anonymously and get support online from other young people going through similar experiences. They have discussion boards on a range of topics, and a search function where you can find discussions about neurodiversity.
Kooth
Kooth is an online mental wellbeing community where you can browse articles and discussion boards and use the live chat feature to talk with a member of the Kooth team. Much of the content relates to looking after your mental health, which is important for neurodivergent people, and there is also some information about neurodevelopmental conditions available.
