MindMate characters are changing 😊

The MindMate characters that you see around the website are designed to represent children and young people in Leeds. We constantly review these characters to assess whether they accurately represent the diversity of young people across Leeds. We recently consulted with a group of young people and our MindMate ambassadors, to uncover how we can update these characters to make sure young people can resonate with them more closely.

Following the group feedback, characters with a wider range of body sizes were included, as well as some more amputee characters. We adapted some existing characters to make sure we included individuals who were gender neutral, as well as more feminine presenting males. To add some more personality to the characters, tattoos were added and accessories like a skateboard or coffee cup. Look out for these characters making an appearance on the website soon.
