Red Kite View opens its doors for young people
Red Kite View, West Yorkshire’s new £20m mental health inpatient unit for people aged between 14 – 18, opened in January on the St Mary’s Hospital site in Armley, Leeds. The 22-bed unit replaces the 8-bed unit at Little Woodhouse Hall, part of a drive to keep treatment closer to home.
Two young people who have been involved in consulting on the approach to treatment at Red Kite View are MindMate Ambassadors Aimee Brew and Rachael Campney. They helped to produce a nine-point Charter which outlines how young service users will be listened to and taken into account at Red Kite View.
